mainstay of the craft industry in
Padang, W Sumatra. This is
another cottage industry that we
visited - Kain Songket. Handwoven
and exquisite. Laura bought a
beautiful pale cream and gold
piece whilst Eva ordered a baby
pink silk with matte silver threads.
Takes up to 3 months to complete.
