The mid-Autumn or mooncake festival is another important festival in the Chinese calendar. This is celebrated with the mooncake. There are many different varieties of mooncake available today, from snow skin to flaky pastry and the traditional mooncake skin - which is a soft dough mix. The fillings can be anything from lotus paste with/without salted egg yolks or fruits, nuts, dates, salted ham..........
I, once again have been double blessed to receive 2 beautiful tins - I have a collection of these from previous years in different colours - which I keep because of the beautiful print of shanghai beauties on the cover. This was waiting for me when I came home and its from one of my dearest "girls" who is like another daughter to me ;p
