Things have been pretty hectic around here but I'm enjoying every minute of it. Whilst completing private orders I'm still able to squeeze in some new creations and still have time to do my Christmas gift creating, shopping and general getting the home ready for that special day in our calendar.
The only time consuming chore seems to be the time I spend at the post office each day. The post office I frequent is in the East Coast, not very large but they have a delightful bunch of friendly and responsible postal officers. The last couple of weeks have seen queues that wind all the way to the front steps of the office and everyone seems to be mailing last minute gift packages back home. If you don't have your documents ready that takes an additional 10 minutes for the sender to write out the contents, address etc., I take the time to just 'chill'. I watch the body language of the people in the queues. The foreign workers sending money home via Western Union are the most anxious, the mothers/fathers with toddlers in tow are the most harassed. You can't keep a toddler strapped to his/her stroller for an extended time in a stationery position - hands start to grab the cards, gift packs on display and the parent is saying "no, no" and then there's the phone addict.........loud, shrill, nonsensical ringtones (auld lang syne?????) and even louder voices .........., the retirees who have all the time in the world, the busy exec stopping by to pay his/her road tax or traffic summons and me with my bag of packages just absorbing the sight and lost in my own world............

I'd be the harassed one in the queue wondering why the bill payers don't use the SAM machines :P
merry christmas Belinda!
I agree with you but I've also suggested to the postal authorities to open a separate counter for Western Union because each person sending money back home spends up to 15 minutes especially if its their first time and they don't know the full name of the recepient etc. V frustrating. I sympathise with the parents who have young children in tow. The child will get wingy or is tired and wants to sleep and starts to cry....
A Blessed Christmas to you and your family Ruth.
